Jumbo’s Beef & Brew Revisited

Over the past year, I’ve made multiple stops over to one of my favorite burger spots in town, Jumbo’s Beef & Brew. A couple of those times, I made sure to invite friends who had never been just to introduce them to a new spot. Between the food, people and ambience, they have much to offer for anybody looking for a great time and meal.

Jumbo’s Beef & Brew serves burgers made with 8oz. Wagyu beef, Chicago-style Italian beef sandwiches, wings, and more. They have some excellent starters like jalapeno mozzarella sticks, loaded fries, but the best goes to their wings. There are four sauces to choose from: Buffalo, BBQ, Chipotle-Maple, and KBBQ. All of them are winners. Last time I went, we ordered all four flavors and the KBBQ was my favorite, but you can’t go wrong with any of them.

The last couple visits, I went with my favorite burger at Jumbo’s, the K-Pop which is a Korean BBQ marinade with fried egg, mozzarella, a house made signature sauce and frizzled onion.

Visually, it was beautiful. Have you ever ordered a cake and hated cutting into it because it looked so good? That’s how I felt about the burger, but once I did, there was no regret. There was a buttery sweetness to the burger that was only enhanced by the Korean BBQ marinade, but then toned down by the fried egg. It was such a well-crafted burger that I hate ordering anything else.

My friends ordered a variety of different burgers. I didn’t ask what they order or even bother to take pictures of every burger at the table. But the one thing I did do was ask everyone their thoughts and it was a resounding yes from all.

Jumbo’s also had a full bar, so we spent the evening chatting over burgers, beers and perhaps some shots…..

It’s hard to walk in the restaurant and not have a good time which is what all dining experiences should be.
