Back in August, Nippon Japanese Grill permanently closed, leaving a void for quick-service Japanese food in Maize and the far northwest part of Wichita. Since then, the 4041 N. Maize Road space has sat vacant for a couple of months.
But soon, that vacancy will be filled by an upstart Japanese restaurant who’s been killing it in south Wichita. Mr. Miyagi Japanese Grill who opened earlier this year at 3920 E. Harry Road will be opening their second location in the former Nippon space.
Mr. Miyagi specializes in fried rice, yakisoba, chicken dishes and other assorted appetizers. No word on when the new Mr. Miyagi 2.0 opens. But if you pay attention to their Facebook page, they’ll be posting updates on it.
