Earlier this year, Wichita Cheesecake Company moved from the Union State kiosks to a new location just a block east at 801 E. Douglas where a Scooters once resided. The new space allowed for more square footage to operate with, an indoor area for diners, a bigger kitchen and something that is sometimes taken for granted, air conditioning.

While their new space doesn’t have much seating inside, it was certainly an upgrade and more inviting than their past kiosk location.
Wichita Cheesecake Company makes a variety of different flavors that are available in all sizes the next day for pick-up or delivery as long as they are ordered in advance online. Sizes and availability vary for same-day carry-out orders from the store. When I visited, they had roughly 10 different flavors on-hand.
We went with three cheesecakes: English Toffee Crunch, Pumpkin Swirl and Almond Joy. Each slice was $5 which was on par or better than many places around town.
My favorite was the pumpkin swirl. It had the classic pumpkin taste that I love so much. The rest of the family was a big fan of the English Toffee Crunch and Almond Joy. Both of them had a sweet finish yet maintaining the rich and creamy goodness one would expect from a cheesecake. My only complaint if there was one to be made was I would have loved a slightly thicker crust.
It’s great to see a local business expand and grow, which is what Wichita Cheesecake Company has done. They’ve done good work and even helped cater a company party I attended last Christmas which received rave reviews. Who needs a Cheesecake Factory when you can have the Cheesecake Company?
