It’s Christmas in the third-smallest town in Texas. Radio station personalities Thurston Wheelis and Arles Struvie report on various Yuletide activities, including the hot competition in the annual lawn-display contest. In other news, the town’s production of A Christmas Carol is jeopardized by unpaid electric bills. Many colorful Tuna denizens join in the holiday fun, including the controversial theater director, the chain smoking used gun shop owner and the flirtatious Tastee Kreme waitresses.

Julia persuades Death to give her one more day to enjoy Christmas and invites him to be her guest at a festive party. The next day the house fills with bickering relatives, friends, the local priest…and Death, masquerading as a human, singing carols and drinking eggnog. Moments of high farce, drama, and even romance arise as bright holiday fantasies collide with a not-so-merry reality.

Wichita Children’s Theatre & Dance Center returns with their annual holiday tradition. The Best Christmas Pageant Ever is a funny and memorable story that introduces an outrageous family of children who learn the Christmas story and help everyone to rediscover its true meaning.

We are excited to return to Century II this year for in-person performances of The Nutcracker on Saturday, December 18th and Sunday, December 19th! Artistic Director, Jill Landrith, continues her decades-long tradition in Wichita, Kansas bringing this holiday classic to life. Clara and her Prince will grace the stage along with a myriad of exciting characters from all over the magic land of the Sugarplum Fairy. Featuring a cast of local and area dancers, Metropolitan Ballet is honored to bring Guest Artists from Dance Theatre of Harlem, Alicia Mae Holloway and Dylan Santos, as the Sugarplum Fairy and her Cavalier.
