Last month, Dillons released a new set of gift cards centered around local businesses in Wichita. The main selling point of the cards were to encourage others to support local by purchasing gift cards that featured restaurants and entertainment venues around town.
I loaded up on fuel points and got the “Best of Brews & More” card for a much-needed holiday date night.
This gift card is good at Grace Hill Winery, Walnut River, Hopping Gnome Brewing, Central Standard Brewing, PourHouse and Wyldewood Cellars. For our date night, we stayed downtown and just visited the breweries in the area. Let’s cover a few of those visits.
Hopping Gnome Brewing Company
1710 E Douglas Ave | 316-771-2110 | Website
Our night started off at Hopping Gnome. The place was hopping to say the last; packed house.
Over the past year, I’ve come to really enjoy the sours around town. So, I had their Pomegranate HBIC Sour and Megan went with the Earl of ESB. It was a great way to start the night. The brewery was probably the most decorated for the holidays and put us in a festive mood.
Central Standard Brewing
156 Greenwood | 316-260-8515 | Website
Up next was a visit to Central Standard Brewing which was another hopping place on a Friday night. We sat at the bar and began our evening with the Horcharta Yard Games, a traditional gose, and the Louetta which was literally like peach cobbler.
PourHouse
711 E Douglas Ave | 316-260-4897 | Website
We wanted some light snacks, so we swung by PourHouse for their pretzels and fried pickles. To accompany our appetizers, we both went with some sangrias. We made sure to toast our sitter, who made our evening possible.
If you’re wanting to do a similar brewery date night, it makes sense to purchase the gift cards to save you on some gas because of the fuel points. All the gift cards are available now for purchase at Dillons and can be in any denomination from $20 to $500.
If you’re a restaurant or venue owner and interested in participating in their next round of gift cards, let me know and I can point you in the right direction.
