To get people ready for the holidays, restaurants and bars have been putting on Christmas pop-ups. They are seasonal temporary set-ups that are festive, merry and fit for Santa Claus. One of the latest ones to appear this year is at the College Hill Ziggy’s Pizza inside their little bar and overflow space called The Hideout.
The pop-up bar opened at the beginning of the month and will be available until the end of the year. It seats roughly 20-25 people and is open to the public or available for reservations.
I had the space reserved for fellow food bloggers known as The Neighborhood, family and friends recently as an end of year celebration of sorts. It was a great space to that gave us that holly jolly feeling heading into the Christmas break.
Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the pop-up. It’s hard not to be in a good mood when Christmas lights are everywhere and the speakers are playing all the classics.
They even had Christmas-inspired cocktails that most of us ordered from. We tried all the cocktails (and the shots too…. can’t forget about the shots).
We also can’t forget about the pizzas. Their special of the month was the festive enchilada pizza which had a cream cheese base, seasoned shredded chicken, black beans, diced tomatoes, jalapeños, mozzarella and cheddar cheese! It’s drizzled with sour cream and topped with tortilla strips! It had some kick to it which we really enjoyed.
Ziggy’s pop-up bar is open from 5 to 10 p.m. Monday through Wednesdays, 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Thursday and Friday and then 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. on Saturdays.
