With Christmas now in the rearview, that means all the holiday pop-up bars that appeared in Wichita will soon be over. We checked them all out and will certainly miss them. They each offered something special and made our holidays merrier.
If you haven’t been to one or all of them, this is your notice to check it out soon! The four pop-ups are scheduled to close soon. Here’s a quick rundown with a link to each of our write-ups.
Apparition: Yule Ball, 2120 N. Woodlawn
Located next door at Headshots, Apparition’s latest pop-up has a Harry Potter theme to it. With the latest pop-up, you have been accepted at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. You will be invited to represent and prove the worthiness of your House, as well as enjoying an enchanting selection of cocktails crafted and created by the finest alchemists the world has to offer. Reservations are not required.
The last day of Yule Ball is Saturday, January 1.
Snowbound: A Merry Ski Lodge, 1240 N. Greenwich Road
Located at Chicken N Pickle, the staff completely transformed the upstairs area to a ski lodge theme with the most festive, merry decor paired with holiday concoctions to match. Not only is there inside seating, but an outdoor heated patio. Reservations are required through their website.
No final date has been released, but pop-up is expected to close in early January. So far, reservations are available up to January 10.
Sparky’s, 3555 E. Douglas
Located at the Belmont’s waiting area called The Flower Shop, Sparky’s takes over the space with a two-level pop-up bar. At Sparky’s, you’ll find two levels of festive and merry furnishings. One of the coolest parts about Sparky’s is the ceiling of the lower level just above the bar. You’ll find an over-the-top decoration with ornaments, presents, and lights that’s reminiscent to a bar called Rolf’s in New York. Reservations are highly recommended.
This pop-up will be open until at least early January.
Ziggy’s Pizza Christmas Pop-Up Bar in College Hill, 3700 E. Douglas
Located in the Ziggy’s Pizza overflow space called The Hideout, this pop-up bar transforms the area to create a festive hangout spot for those wanting to get into the holiday spirit. It seats roughly 20-25 people and is open to the public or available for reservations.
This pop-up is scheduled to close on December 31.
