Let’s review Buffalo Wild Wings!
Buffalo Wild Wings is an American casual dining restaurant and sports bar based out of Sandy Springs, GA. It was founded in Columbus, OH in 1982 and since then, has grown to nearly 1,300 locations worldwide. The chain specializes in wings and sauces. In the Wichita area, there are three locations at the east and west end of Wichita and Derby.
We visited all three locations plenty of times. I should preface this review by stating, Buffalo Wild Wings is in our regular rotation of restaurants simply because it’s one of the kid’s favorite restaurants. When it’s up to them to choose where to eat, this is typically the top choice for them. We have done dine-in and carryout at both locations, and I have to hand it to the New Market location. When it comes to excellent customer service, they have always done an impressive job. We’ve had our fair share of issues at the Derby and Rock Road stores, but New Market has never let us down.
The kids are creatures of habit and always order the same thing every time. They go with wings, fries and mac and cheese. From their perspective, its perfection, and that’s all we can ask for as parents when trying to please their kids at a restaurant. As a blogger, the wings are decent. Most people know what they are getting at BWW. The wings aren’t too meaty, but I’ll hand it to them that I really enjoy their sauces. Caribbean Jerk, Asian Zing and Mango Habanero are my three favorites. The fries are well-seasoned and another favorite of the kids. However, the mac and cheese recently changed and unfortunately wasn’t as well received. BWW used to have more of a shells and cheese type side but now use something different that is thicker and not as cheesy.
Here’s what they used to look like before.
On a recent visit, we also tried their chicken sandwiches. Both were pretty decent. I had the Nashville Hot Chicken, which was a new addition to the menu. My chicken was completely smothered in sauce; I felt it kind of took away from the sandwich as that was all you could taste. The chicken, itself, was probably a smaller and thinner piece than many of the other chicken sandwiches around town. All in all, I’d say it was an average sandwich. I’ve definitely had better around town.
When it comes to wings, I can’t say that Buffalo Wild Wings would rank in my top three choices. But ultimately, my opinion doesn’t matter because as I said earlier, this is always going to be a favorite of the kids. And who am I to say no when they know what they want?
I should also add that the sports bar is well done. I like how many televisions they have around. It makes for a nice place to meet some friends for a quick drink and catching a game.
What do you think of Buffalo Wild Wings?
