Visiting the Holiday Shopping Craft Fair at Risen Savior Lutheran Church

My Saturday afternoon was spent out and about all over Wichita. One of my stops took me to Risen Savior Lutheran Church at 6770 E. 47th St. N for their annual Holiday Shopping Craft Fair.

The event was a great opportunity for handmade crafters and local shops to put their items on display and for sale. There was a bit of something for everybody. They had custom-made gifts including clothing, kitchenware, items for home, jewelry, toys and books for the kids and a whole lot more.

It was a nice break in my day to walk around casually shop. You never know what kind of goodies you’ll find. I picked up some toys for my daughter along with some more wooden Wichita State Christmas decor to add to my small collection thanks to a local vendor called My Wood Things & Golden Threads. By the way, the couple who runs it was the sweetest two people you could ever meet.

Of course, I had to grab some eats. Annette Lawless of KAKE TV fame had her prized cinnamon rolls available. I purchased a batch that came out piping hot. It took everything in me not to pull over on the side of the road to eat them. It was definitely worth the wait and the best six bucks I spent all afternoon. WHAT. A. DEAL! They were very ooey-gooey which is how I like them.

Definitely be on the lookout for this event next year by following Risen Savior Lutheran Church on Facebook.
