On my list of restaurants to visit outside of Wichita for the longest time has been Noffy’s Sandwich Shop & Pub. Located in McPherson, KS, it’s about an hour outside of Wichita. I’ve had many people refer me to the restaurant that serves “authentic east coast hoagies”.

The restaurant is located in a narrow space with limited seating that packed up quickly over the lunch hour. They had a bar with many local beers available.
The menu was simple, featuring a handful of salads and hoagies. I asked what was popular and they recommended the traditional Italian, but said their limited-time special was even more popular. Seeing as how I wasn’t sure when I’d return to McPherson, I went with the special. It was called The Gobbler and included turkey, Havarti cheese, cranberry mayo, spinach and candied pecans. For my side, I went with pasta salad.
While I typically would have went the traditional Italian, the Gobbler was great. It wasn’t something I would usually order, but glad I branched out. The cranberry mayo and candied pecans really livened up the hoagie and gave it a sweet punch to counter the turkey and cheese. Making it extra special was the 12” Philly roll. It was essentially the heart and soul of the hoagie and sold it for me. I loved how soft it was, yet firm to keep everything intact.
The staff did a fantastic job. It felt like they cranked out 1,000 hoagies over the hour. Despite how busy they were, I got that friendly hometown vibe. I could see why so many people recommended the sandwich shop.
