In the next couple of years, Towne East Square and the surrounding area will be experiencing a revival. While the mall itself will be going through a multi-million renovation, big things are also taking place around the property. Kicking off the renaissance of sorts will be the opening of Dōma which is set to take place with a soft opening starting on January 19 and a grand opening in February.
The new restaurant will open this month at 7703 E. Douglas in the former Carlos O’Kelly’s space that has sat vacant for almost five years. It’s set to bring an experience different from many other restaurants in Wichita. It’s part of a concept I love called experiential dining. They offer different ways to enjoy eating out other than ordering a single plate, focusing on the food, paying your tab, and leaving.
Dōma will focus on modern American small plates that will be highlighted by Latin and Asian influences. We’ve had restaurants before offer similar options with tapas, but this one wants to take it to another level. They plan to give diners an ambience with the most comfortable seating in town along with one of the best patios. Their patio faces the east side of the building and will be another perfect hangout spot in the warmer months with yard games, picnic tables, fire pits, dog-friendly area, and more. Their small plates will consist of such items as hanger steak, white prawns, brown sugar braised pork belly, charred shishitos, crab onion dip and more. A menu of inventive cocktails will be available to pair drinks with all the dishes. It’ll be a great way to dine with those you love.

Here’s a sneak peek at their menu:
Be on the lookout for our first look. Until then, you can also follow Dōma on Facebook.
Happy Dining,
Eddy
