Ze German Markt

There are many fantastic local businesses inside Revolutsia, the shipping container mall at 2721 E. Central. One of them offers something unique to Wichita. It’s Ze German Markt, Wichita’s only German exclusive import shop for snacks, condiments, novelties, and more.

Having never been before, I wanted to drop in to pick up some treats to share with my family, who’s also part German. The market was started by the owners of Prost, Wichita’s only German restaurant. Inside Revolutsia, you’ll take the stairs to the second floor, where you’ll find the market off to the side of Prost’s patio.

Upon walking through the doors, you’ll be transported to a world full of products hailing from the other hemisphere. There were condiments galore, meats, drinks, candies and snacks, novelty items, and more. There was so much imported items to choose from, and the staff was pretty knowledgeable in making suggestions.

I picked up quite a few items that I brought over to a family gather that my father recognized from his time in Germany. It was cool to have the kids try the candies, get their thoughts, and just experience a different culture inside the comfort of our own home. Up next, we will be researching some German dishes to make at home and head back.
