A new coffee shop is officially open in Wichita. Mokas Cafe is a Kansas-based company founded in Salina, KS. Located at 142 N. McLean Blvd, this is their first entry into the Wichita market. It’s a great location, being situated in Delano and essentially next door to the Advanced Learning Library.

It’s bigger inside than it appears from the exterior. There was plenty of seating to go around and a patio out front.
One big difference between the locations around Kansas is that the Wichita store sells breakfast all day. There’s also a smaller lunch menu offering at Wichita, which could expand as time goes on.
We swung by in the morning for breakfast. Our meal consisted of a half-order of biscuits and gravy, a breakfast burrito, strawberry banana smoothie and frappe royale.
I was a huge fan of the biscuits and gravy; the biscuits were light and fluffy and the gravy was tasty with just the right level of peppery goodness. At first glance, I was thinking the breakfast burrito was looking a little puny. Don’t let it fool you, it was packed full of egg, cheese, bacon and more. It wasn’t a burrito that would leave you feeling stuffed, though, if that’s your goal. It was more of a light breakfast that would hold you off until lunchtime.
The staff was handing out some cinnamon rolls that people could sample. I didn’t get to try one since my daughter called dibs on every sample they handed us. She was loving it and ate her weight in cinnamon rolls.
The staff was on top of everything and extremely friendly. With locations in Hays and Salina, they really brought that small-town friendliness with them.
