While many restaurants in town close around 8 or 9 p.m., there’s Milkfloat who is open until 10 p.m. It makes for a great spot to grab some dessert if you had dinner in the Delano area or want a spot to study over some coffee, ice cream, cake, pie, you name it. I was in the area one evening past 9 p.m. and figured why not stop by for some treats?

Milkfloat is known for changing out their desserts, so what me be available one day, may not be there the next. I was fortunate to stop by on a fantastic day. There were three goodies that caught our eyes:
- Banana Cream Cruffin which I’m told was a mix between a croissant and muffin.
- Cranberry Sweetheart Cupcake
- Chai Latte Pie
I wish I took better pictures of everything, but we were pretty quick to jump in on the fun. My daughter and I split the cupcake and it was so moist, sweet and heavenly. There were loads of icing on it which we took some off, but aside from that, it was one of the better cupcakes we’ve had.
The chai latte pie tasted like fall in your mouth, if that’s even a thing. It tasted exactly like what it was advertised as.
The true winner for me was the banana cream cruffin. It wasn’t as dense as a muffin, very flaky and stuffed with a delicious banana cream filling. I’m kicking myself for not ordering two.
This was a fantastic impromptu stop; one I’m glad I made on a whim. It definitely won’t be the last impromptu spot there, either.
Here’s the menu:
