Many people on the northwest side of Wichita were upset when Alejandro’s Fast Mexican Food quietly closed down late in 2021. There was no announcement from them as they closed with no notice. But good news is now on the way as the south side restaurant, Lalo’s Express, will be taking over.
Lalo’s Express is moving fast and plans to open up their northwest location at 2110 N. Maize Road with a soft opening on Thursday, Feb. 17.
Lalo’s has been a popular late night south side restaurant for many diners. Being open until 3 a.m. on the weekends, I along with many others have had their fill of big burritos along with tacos into the early morning hours there. Their original location which will remain open is at 2051 S. Seneca.
As for Alejandro’s, the east side location at 1212 S Rock Rd is still open for business as it was separately owned and operated from the west side store.
Here’s the menu at their south side location, which should be pretty similar if not the same once they open out west.
Stay tuned for our first look into the new late night west side restaurant soon. For more information, please sure to follow them on Facebook.
