One of the good things to come out of the pandemic was a law change which allowed alcohol to go. Of course, there were people who were appalled such a thing would be allowed. But it’s here and I want to share with you a new business that recently opened called Mamasita’s Michelada Drive-Thru. They serve micheladas to go.

First off, what’s a michelada? You may have seen them on the menu at many Mexican restaurants around town. It’s basically a beer prepared with lime juice, assorted sauces, spices, tomato juice, and chile peppers. It’s almost like a Bloody Mary. At Mamasita’s Michelada’s Drive-Thru, most people can get them on the go, but they’re welcome to hang out and enjoy them there. Soon, the business will have tables and chairs in their large parking lot for customers to live it up with micheladas in hand outside when the weather is nice. For example, they are already having some events on Saturdays with live music.
Upon arriving, you can scan a QR code to see their menu. At the moment, it’s pretty limited to variations of micheladas.
Mamasita’s also carries a wide variety of beers that you can order to-go as well, along with limited snacks that pair perfectly with your Mexican cocktail.
I opted for a Michelada with Modelo. It came with sliced cucumbers and shrimp. That thing was tasty with a bit of heat. So good, I had to give something else a try…. and I did.
They also whipped up a Marichela which is not yet available on the menu, but I’m sure they’ll make one for you if you ask. It was a mix of chips, shrimp, cucumbers, lime, hot sauce, chamoy, essentially everything and the kitchen sink. Only, the kitchen sink was a beer.
They allowed me to take a quick video of the Micheladas, which you can view here:
