More summer fun has arrived with Tanganyika Falls Splash Park at Tanganyika Wildlife Park.

The attraction opened a couple of years ago. Fitting the theme of Tanganyika, it’s a 5,000 square feet splash park with water buckets, slides, water shooting up from the ground, waterfalls, animals spitting water out and so much more. Water is literally EVERYWHERE!

Admission to Tanganyika Falls Splash Park is included with regular park admission so you’re getting 2 different experiences in one.

We made our way over to the splash park and while my daughter loves cornhole, she loves water even more.

Once we arrived to the water zone, we took in nearly every experience. We rode down the water slides together, I think my pinched a nerve in my neck during the process. But like any parent, I fought through the pain to let her continue the fun. I lost count of how many times we went down the slide; it felt like 100 times.

There was a big bucket of water that splashed down every 10-15 minutes from her. The first time it came down, it dang near traumatized her. But after that, she finally got used to it.

My toddler’s favorite features of the splash park were the slides, stepping on the holes that shot out water and touching the animals on display like the penguins which were located in the penguin cove that had a mini-waterfall.

There was a lot to do especially for my toddler. She probably could have spent all day there had we not forced her to get out and walk around. Feeding animals quickly diverted her attention and made me regret not purchasing a Gold Membership that allowed unlimited feedings.

Something to also keep in mind for the future are the cabanas that were being built. Once those are up, you’ll be able to reserve them for parties, family gatherings, etc. I envision a future birthday party taking place there in a year or two.

I can’t forget about the parents. There’s even a Thirsty Sloth Bar that carries local beers and frozen drinks. In true Wichita By E.B. fashion, I made sure to snap a picture of that menu.

Check it out sometime if you have kids and they could be this happy as well.
