The owners of Twelve Restaurant & Bar are excited to announce their latest concept in an area of town short on locally owned restaurants. Be on the lookout for Maple Street Pizza Company. It will be located at 12111 W Maple St in the former Kanai space that also held briefly held Lilikoi Asian Bistro.
Maple Street looks to set itself apart with handmade pizza dough and promising fresh, from scratch, innovative pizzas to enjoy with family and friends.
The area of Maple and 119th is pretty limited when it comes to local dining and Maple Street Pizza Company looks to offer a quaint and small dining environment where guests can sit back, relax and have hand-tossed perfectly fired pizzas brought to their table. Owners of Twelve are looking to create a restaurant created for conversations to make it a go-to spot for date nights and casual lunches with friends. Its modern yet warm atmosphere, featuring black and white photography and natural wood tones, will provide a welcoming experience for all diners.
Their pizza will be made to order from scratch in the family-owned kitchen. The cheese is shredded by hand, and the handmade dough is slow-fermented for 72 hours to ensure a crunchy, airy crust. The in-house sauce will be made daily, and all menu items will be prepared using ingredients that are never frozen. Creative artisan pizzas such as the “Thai Chicken” and “Cubano” pizza will accompany more traditional pizza options featuring a Maple Street spin.
The bar will feature signature sangrias and wines on tap, local and regional craft beer bottles, and a full bar with craft cocktails. Other menu items will include appetizers, salads, and dessert pizzas. All food items, sangria, and wine will be available for online ordering and can be picked up using the convenient drive-up window.
“We want our guests to be excited to come back after enjoying a memorable meal at Maple Street,” said Toi Kuhn, Maple Street Pizza Company’s Founder and Owner. “We want them to be excited to try something new and then love what they ate so much that they can’t wait to have it again. We want our pizza company to create mealtime memories with friends and families in our hometown. Making pizza together has become a family tradition, and we want to share our passion for pizza with the community.”
Founded by Bryce & Toi Kuhn. Bryce has been in the restaurant industry for 25 years and successfully opened his first restaurant in 2013, Twelve Restaurant and Bar, which specializes in Classic American Cuisine. After many years in the Wichita culinary scene, Bryce discovered a missing piece on the far west side of Wichita. A family owned, quality, and quaint pizza restaurant where guests can enjoy a fired pie in a welcoming environment.
Maple Street Pizza Company will begin renovations in May 2022 and is set to open in the late summer of 2022. Stay tuned for more.
