First look at Angela’s Cafe

Angela's Cafe

Less than a year ago, the latest Angela’s Cafe opened at 300 S. Greenwich. This followed the closing of their 21st street location. We have fond memories of visiting the Angela’s Cafe on east Central and decided to go check out this latest iteration of the Mexican restaurant.

We were greeted with some delicious chips and salsa. The latter provided quite a bit of heat that we were very pleased with.

For lunch, we ordered the flautas and the green chili burrito.

Let’s try to keep this review short and brief. The sides for the flautas were tasty, but the flautas were a bit cold, dry and bland. We weren’t sure if they were made from scratch, but regardless, we were very underwhelmed by it.

The same unfortunately went for the green chile burrito. I love green chile anything, and this one fell flat for my taste buds. There wasn’t much heat to it, and worse yet, the sauce was nearly flavorless. It was missing a lot and was simply a dish that left me unimpressed.

On the bright side, the service was very friendly. The food felt lackluster to us, which left us sad, as our city is full of great Mexican restaurants. You really have to bring it to keep those repeat customers.

Here’s their menu:

Happy Dining,
Eddy
