About three weeks ago, Magic Boba Tea at 2610 S. Seneca announced they closed permanently.
There aren’t many places in southwest Wichita to get boba and tea, so now the closest option is probably Leaf Teahouse at 1912 E. Pawnee.
Earlier this year, Simply Sangria Wine Co. who sells wine out of their space at 223 N. Cleveland and at various vendor markets around town, opened a pizza place in Towne East Square.
Due to some unforeseen circumstances, they had to close earlier this week. But the space won’t be vacant for long…
Next up is some sweet news for one dessert shop. River City Sweet Shop announced last month they were closing their store at 6476 E. Central.
But after a twist of fate, owner Marilyn Ramsey, told me they will now be able to stay open at a different location. They will be taking over the Simply Sangria space on the lower level of Towne East Square near the food court.
Ramsey will close up shop in Normandie Center on July 30. On the last day of her east Central store, 50% of profits will go to her bakery manager’s 12-year-old daughter, who has a rare cancer.
Then in late August, she will make the move to Towne East and use the space to handle corporate orders and sell single items like she did at her previous small but on a smaller level.
Not much news to share regarding the Marrakech Cafe space at 6257 E. 21st St. I did hear something is already planned to take over. Haven’t heard exactly what, but that announcement should be soon.
