What to expect at Dutch Bros Coffee

The first Dutch Bros Coffee is opening on Friday, July 8 and here’s your first look at what to expect when they open.

Based out of Oregon, this is the first of at least three locations coming to the Wichita area. Located at 2860 N. Maize, Dutch Bros. is near the corner of 29th and Maize in front of the Hobby Lobby. Next up will be 605 S. West St. followed by a Derby location next year.

Dutch Bros. Coffee is a drive-through chain, but they do offer a walk-up window and a decent amount of parking for the size of their building.

The drive-thru starts out as two lanes with employees walking up to cars taking orders. The two lanes eventually turns into one. As orders are finished, employees walk your order to your car. Sometimes, the line does take you to the drive-thru window, where you can pick it up there. Ordering and receiving an order was a mix of Chick-fil-A with the order takers and Sonic with people bringing your drinks.

For as many people as they had, the employees did an impressive job of getting cars in and out. Hopefully, that will continue once they open under normal conditions.

Dutch Bros. Coffee menu featured lattes, mochas, cold brews, energy drinks, teas, and more. We went with a Nitro Cold Brew and Peach tea.

By no means am I a reviewer of coffees, so my opinion on how it tasted really doesn’t matter. But for what it’s worth, I really loved their peach tea. I had the option of ordering it organic, green, or black and went with the latter. That’s something I would definitely get again.

Since I’m no coffee connoisseur, reviewing these coffee shops isn’t really my thing. At the same time, I don’t mind visiting them all to show everyone some love and help others find different options out there.
