The grand opening is set for Monday, August 15, but we have your first look at Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux right here on the blog. The chain based out of Louisiana has taken over the former Granite City space to give west siders a much anticipated Cajun option and additional sports bar in the part of town. We stopped by during a private opening event to give readers a first-hand look at what to expect.

I do want to provide a full disclaimer that during this private opening event, the food was complimentary, so please keep that in mind. We will definitely be back once they open to get a better feel of how the service and food are once training and the newness dies down.
Simply use this particular blog as an idea of what to expect should you decide to go in.
There’s plenty of seating inside and a big patio with fans and plenty of televisions. (A video at the end will give you a better idea of what to expect inside)
To start our meal, I went with the Eddy’s Sangria. It made sense to order a drink with my name on it. The sucker in me feels obligated to order anything with Eddy in it. I’m just glad they didn’t have “Eddy’s Olives” or “Eddy’s Beets” on the menu; otherwise I would have ordered those too, despite my feelings on those foods. It was a nice, refreshing start to my meal.
The group of us started off with some alligator and boudin balls. Those went down quickly. I felt bad for my friend’s five-month-old, who spent most of the time drooling; perhaps at the Eddy’s Sangria.
For our entrees, we had the Cajundillas (a play on quesadillas, duh), Mahi Mango, Lemon Butter Chicken and the Two Way Crawfish which was my dish.
Nearly everybody finished their dishes. Most of them were fairly heavy, and we knew a nap would be in order….5-month-old included. Cajun is such a picky genre in Wichita; everybody has their certain expectations. I’ll say this, it was definitely different from the other Cajun places around town. Of course, our opinions could be skewed because it was a complimentary private opening, but everyone enjoyed it.

The inside is really fantastic. So many televisions and they are all over the restaurant. This could really give northwest Wichita another place to watch games just in time for football season.
If you’re interested in some more information, here’s a video look inside courtesy of our TikTok.
