Dining by the Children’s Alphabet continued on the kid’s menus around town to the second letter known as B. For this letter we stopped by Barn’rds Restaurant. The popular sandwich spot located at 3860 N. Maize Road.
The children’s menu featured a list of entrees at $5.99 that included your choice of chicken tenders, mac n’ cheese, roast beef sandwich, ham and cheese sandwich, turkey sandwich or grilled cheese. All entrees came with your choice of french fries or grapes and a small soft drink.
I gave my daughter the options and she chose mac n’ cheese and French fries. Because seriously, it’s nearly impossible to stop by Barn’rds Restaurant and not get fries.
My daughter isn’t the most adventurous eater, but this meal was right up her alley. I ran into a few problems trying to get her to eat. Doing it at a normal human pace, that was another issue.
Eating fries, especially at Barn’rds, is never an issue for her. Throw in some ketchup and she’s in heaven. She wanted to start with the mac n’ cheese, though, which was a big surprise for me because usually fries are always first. That must have been a good sign.
This whole visit was a blast. She was all smiles and in great spirits. This time it was just daddy/daughter time and we shared laughs, giggles, and my water even though she had her own. The backwash of mac n’ cheese was delicious.
To end our meal, I let her grab one of the large Barn’rds cookies and she chose the one with candy corn on it. I’ve failed as a father.
