We’ve had a segment called Fast Food Breakfast Series, where the older kids get to choose where to get breakfast. 90% of the time, they’ll choose a chain. So because of that, we started this ongoing trend of comparing the fast food breakfast scene to see how they stack up against each other. For this review, we checked out their 21st and Maize location.
How did it compare? Let’s find out.
Our breakfast order at Chick-fil-A consisted of:
- Sausage Burrito
- Bacon, Egg & Cheese Biscuit
- Hash browns
- Vanilla Iced Coffee
- Regular Coffee
Our oldest really loved the bacon, egg and cheese biscuit. She said it was huge and just the right amount of food for breakfast; even though she pounded the vanilla iced coffee in seconds right after that.
She wasn’t a huge fan of the hash browns. I’m not sure if it was that particular batch, but they were soft and undercooked. We would have preferred them crispier.
I had the Chick-n-Mini’s which are bite-sized nuggets nestled in warm, mini yeast rolls that are lightly brushed with a honey butter spread. The ratio in each bite was off. There seemed to be way more roll than nugget which made the experience very bready… and dry. I didn’t even know there was a honey butter spread until I read the description. I also had the burrito which didn’t impress me too much.
Our oldest loved it and ranked this breakfast high, while I felt Chick-fil-A breakfast was lower on the totem pole compared to other fast food breakfast options around town.
