We went the first year they opened, miss out last year, but returned this year for the Garden Igloos at Nortons Brewing Company.
Nortons opened their reservations for the igloos earlier this month and many slots were booked quickly. We were lucky to get one and stopped by with some friends who have never been.
If you’ve never been, the garden igloos are plastic domes on Nortons outdoor space. They protect you from the elements and provide heating inside. There are four available to rent and currently, there’s nothing like it in Wichita.
Each igloo seats up to six people and come with a fireplace, bluetooth speaker, table, cushioned seating and your own server who comes by periodically to check on you.
There are some easy to follow rules to the igloos that you can find below:
We had our igloos for the hour and a half time slot. It went by QUICK which meant it was a good time. Our server did a fantastic job all evening. At no point did we go without drinks or food for long periods of time. Everyone always had a drink in their hand, and our table had plenty of appetizers.
Reserving them was easy and something that has to be done ahead of time because they do get booked up quickly. If you’d like, you can head to their website and reserve yours there. A $25 non-refundable deposit is required for all reservations. The reservations are for 1 and a half hour time blocks. That is not bad at all.
There is an option to go longer if you want it for more than an hour and a half. If you want to reserve the igloo for 3 hours, a food/drink minimum of $300 is required plus a $150 deposit and non-refundable rental fee of $50.
Do not worry about the food/drink minimum, our party at an hour and a half went over $200 easily.
We might have to make this an annual event for us with friends. I’m all about checking out the cool things in Wichita, and this certainly fits that mold.
