With the holiday season, perhaps you want to spice things up and add something different besides turkey and ham. Why not roasted duck? Insert KimSon Asian Market. The Asian grocery store at 960 E. Pawnee will soon be selling them for a limited time.
All of their roasted ducks are marinated for 24 hours before roasting and are priced at $29.99 for a whole duck. That’s right, just $29.99 making it an outstanding deal considering the amount of food and time you save for adding something delicious to your holiday spread.
This is something we’ve ordered before in the past for our family dinners and loved it.
Orders, which they will start taking the week of Thanksgiving, can be placed by calling KimSon at 316-262-5235. With the time it takes to prepare, you’ll want to give them as much notice as possible. Be aware, they do sell out as well.
Last year, we placed our orders the day before and they were ready by 4:30 p.m. for pickup the following day. When we arrived to pick it up, we were given the option to have it served whole as seen below or cut up.
We had them cut it up, as we planned to eat the duck immediately upon arriving home.
Oh my…. this was a true showstopper of a dinner. There was a delicious mix of tender, moist duck meat and a fattiness that you’d love. The duck skin was wonderful as well; it was thicker and fattier, but had a nice crispiness to it. The aroma was a like a massage for my senses.
We will be doing it again this Thanksgiving!
