On my way to the Shocker game, I decided to swing by another Kwik Shop to check out a Sbarro pizza. Since the first one returned to Oliver and Kellogg, other locations have started to open. I haven’t been back since then, so this was my second Sbarro experience in Wichita.

If you’ve never been, Sbarro is a chain that used to be located inside the mall. They serve New York style pizza by the slice, whole pizzas, Stromboli, wings, breadsticks, and breakfast versions of the options listed.
The difference with this visit is the corporate office wasn’t in town training the staff. This was a true, authentic experience where there were no eyes on the employees or training taking place.
I went with the supreme pizza, which was $4 and change. My first experience wasn’t all that bad. This one was less than stellar. The pizza, which they reheated and had plenty of toppings, was very dried out. I’m not sure if there was any sauce on the pizza; if there was, that probably evaporated into thin air because I have no idea where it went. As for the crust, it had more of that cardboard type texture that didn’t do much to enhance the experience.
Should I go check out other Sbarro locations around town? We’ll see.
