Well, this is some depressing news to share. Sunday, Feb. 26 will be the last day for Chuyitos Birrieria.
I spoke to the owner, who confirmed with me much of the speculation that the restaurant was closing down. He did not get into the specifics of why. When I asked if the Mexican restaurant would be moving, he said he wasn’t sure yet.
It’s a big blow to the local restaurant scene, as Chuyitos Birrieria is one of my personal favorite places in town. When it comes to consomé or birria, there isn’t a single restaurant in town who does it better.
Chuyitos Birrieria arrived on the scene in 2020 and quickly shot up as a place that was featured in my regular rotation of lunch spots.
Those wanting to get their last fill of their delicious dishes have until Sunday.
