■ Death By Chocolate | March 4
Where: Exploration Place
With a reputation as Wichita’s most dynamic and fun event, the 17th annual Death By Chocolate looks to be the biggest yet! Join us at a red carpet event for an opportunity to feast on the very best local sweet/savory food and delectable drinks while being entertained by top musical talent and dance parties in the castle. Back in 2023 – guests will crown the “People’s Choice Award” for their favorite tasting!
■ Great Chefs of the Midwest | March 5
Where: Kansas Star Casino
The Great Chefs of the Midwest showcases local chefs and restaurants who share their creative culinary talent as they vie for the coveted Best Dish and People’s Choice awards. Guests will mix and mingle, enjoy mouthwatering creations from Wichita’s best chefs, and bid on exciting auction packages. This is one of the biggest fundraisers for the National Kidney Association.

■ The Communication Roller Coaster with Jennica King | March 1
Where: Larkspur Bar & Bistro
Learn about building meaningful connections to accomplish clear, effective, and creative communications. Jennica King is the Director of Marketing & Communications at the Sedgwick County Zoo. She works with Zoo leaders, animal experts, and conservationists to inspire our community to leave the planet better than we found it. During her time at the Zoo, Jennica has built a mission-based communication strategy, launched a new website, and led a comprehensive rebranding initiative.
■ 1 Million Cups | March 1
Where: Groover Labs
1 Million Cups is a free, weekly national program designed to educate, engage, and connect entrepreneurs. Every Wednesday morning at 8:45 a.m., one or two early-stage startups present their companies to a diverse audience of their peers, mentors, educators, and advisors.
■ Thursday Night Pinball League | March 2
Where: The Arcade
Doors at The Arcade open at 6pm. League games will begin at 6:30pm, no practice games will be allowed on league games after this point. This league will run for 7 weeks, 6 weeks of qualifying and 1 week of finals. Only your best 4 of the 6 weeks of qualifying will be used to determine finals placement. Lowest 2 weeks scores will not be used.

■ Dance Odyssey Phoenix 2023 | March 4
Where: Crown Uptown Theatre
You’ll be mesmerized by the variety of colorful costumes, amazing props and eclectic music in this year’s show called “Dance Odyssey: Phoenix.” The theme Is that of the Phoenix: rising from the ashes the Phoenix is reborn with fire in her heart, the strength of renewal and the transformation of self. Much like the historical standing of Amira Dance Productions, which is Wichita’s longest-running community dance studio.

The 37th annual Academy Award Short Film Festival, presented by Wichita Public Library, runs March 4-11 at several locations in and around Wichita. Each year, Wichita Public Library screens the nominated short films in the live action, animation and documentary categories.

■ Wichita Brewing Co. Relay Marathon | March 12
Where: Wichita Brewing Company
This will be our seventh annual marathon/relay marathon from Wichita Brewing Company West to Wichita Brewing Company East. The course is USATF certified for the serious runners. But, will be set up with five interchanges for teams of six runners to run the marathon. The course will stick to the Wichita bike paths as much as possible for the safety of all the runners.
