If you’re driving down Oliver near K-96 by Aloft Hotel, it’s likely you’ve seen a brand-new building and curious what it is. Get ready for a new restaurant next month.
Rail Hoppers will be the latest venture for Schane Gross, who also owns The Anchor at 1109 E. Douglas.
Located at 3622 N. Oliver, Rail Hoppers looks to be an extension of The Anchor but with a high-end feel to it. While no official menu has been released, it’s likely many of the sandwiches and burgers will be available along with a full bar.
One nice perk about Rail Hoppers is the inclusion of an outdoor patio that sits on the east end of the building. Patio dining is hard to come by in that part of town.
This should be a very nice addition to an area that could use some more restaurants. It’s pretty bare bones when it comes to places to eat on north Oliver and north Hillside. Stroud’s is essentially your only choice. All other options are on Woodlawn and east of that.
Rail Hoppers is tentatively planning for a mid-March opening. As they prepare for the big day, Gross’ other restaurant, The Anchor will be closed for remodeling, but The Anchor Meat Market will remain open during renovations.
Be sure to follow Rail Hoppers on Facebook as their opening day looms closer.
Stay tuned for more information as it becomes available.
Happy Dining,
Eddy
