Since it was a taco Tuesday, I figured I’d go with a handful of tacos. My order consisted of two lengua, two tripa and one al pastor taco. They weren’t your basic street tacos, either. In reality, I should have just went with three tacos because they were of the larger variety in big semi-fried tortillas.
Of the three types of tacos I ordered, the lengua was probably the best by default. The tripa tacos were extremely mushy. I’m not a texture guy and love tripa, but these had a very gelatinous feel that I couldn’t do; it was like I was eating my daughter’s slime. It didn’t help matters, the tripa simply didn’t taste good. Then, there was the al pastor, which was overly greasy; the grease was all I could taste.
So, by default, the lengua was my favorite of the three meats. It wasn’t bad, but I’ve also had much better around town.
Not exactly the best first impression of a restaurant for me, but I’d be interested in going back to try one of their burgers. The Jalapeno burger or Hawaiian burger caught my eye, so maybe in a few months I’ll go back to give that a try.
Here’s their menu.
Happy Dining,
Eddy
