Let’s Revisit Texas Roadhouse

Texas Roadhouse

Let’s review Texas Roadhouse!

Texas Roadhouse is an American chain restaurant that is popular for steaks and encapsulated by a Western theme. With over 500 locations around the world, there are two here in Wichita; one on west Kellogg and another near 21st and Greenwich. For the review, we visited the store at 6707 W Kellogg Dr.

It was one of the kid’s birthdays and for that reason, it was his choice on where to eat. Of every restaurant in town, he went with Texas Roadhouse.

It’s a popular restaurant option for the teenagers who know exactly what they want.

The complimentary dinner rolls with honey cinnamon butter were a big hit for everyone at our table… and, well, every table in the restaurant. They are always warm and fresh.

For our main entrees, the teenagers went with the filet, fries and mashed potatoes along with the mac & cheese with fries. It’s their order 90% of the time. They had zero complaints about the food, and I don’t think ever have, on any visit to Texas Roadhouse.

Meanwhile, the adults went with a rib eye cooked rare with a fully loaded baked potato and grilled shrimp. For the record, my steak was cooked as ordered.

Texas Roadhouse

The biggest thing Texas Roadhouse has going for them is consistency. You know what you’re getting from them. I’m not sure how the kitchen but if you order the same meal, 9 times out of 10, it’ll be prepared the same way. And for the kids who don’t like change, that is great for them. Are there better steakhouses in town? I, personally, think so, but I’m also not disappointed when the kids choose Texas Roadhouse because I know what I’m getting. By no means, is it a bad steak.

Moreover, the service is equally consistent, especially at the west Kellogg location, which is the one we frequent most. To make things better, I’m so happy they didn’t have the line dancing that evening.

Happy Dining,
Eddy

  1. Did they really do away with the line dancing? I heard last month the Kellogg location won the Texas Roadhouse line dancing competition held in Kansas City!

  2. I was at east store recently and they still do the line dancing. It’s part of the charm and appeal of the place. Great restaurant.

  3. I love Texas Roadhouse! It’s my number one pick for dinner. You are correct. The food is always consistent. It is delicious every time. I usually order the 6 oz. Sirloin medium, baked potato, and a salad without eggs. The rolls are fabulous, although I’ve never been a fan of flavored butter. They give my the plain stuff. Once in awhile I will get the the kabob and rice which was great. I’ve eaten at fancier places, but Texas Roadhouse is still one of my favorites!

  4. I dinner know how they do it, but yes, the food is so consistent 99% of the time. I’m not usually a fan of chain restaurants, but TR is the exception. Love that place.
