Showing some much deserved love to Promise Thai Cuisine

I asked people online to give me suggestions of restaurants that could use some more love. Places that aren’t too busy, but deserve to be. Sometimes, it’s because they don’t have much of a social media presence, they don’t have any marketing budget, or simply people may not know they exist. Whatever the reason, I’m here to spread love to Promise Thai Cuisine.

Wichita has plenty of fantastic options when it comes to Thai food. They’re all good in their own right. But if you want to expand your list of places to try, consider Promise Thai Cuisine.

The Thai restaurant, near Kellogg and Greenwich, might have one of the smallest staffs in all of town. One of the owners cooks and sometimes busses the table, while the other handles bussing tables, taking orders, serving, greeting; basically the entire front of house. What makes it even better is that they’re so nice, and always upbeat.

During our lunch, we started off with a Tom Yum Kai soup. It’s one of my favorite dishes there and I try to get it on every visit. You can get it with the spice level of your choice to complement the sourness. It’s such a great starter to any meal.

Promise Thai Cuisine is an occasional lunch stop for us when we are on that side of town. They have a special lunch menu that includes a soup, green salad and steamed or fried rice. On our most recent visit, we had the basil leaves chicken and the garlic chicken.

Between the two dishes, I had the basil leaves chicken which was stir-fried chicken, basil leaves, green and red peppers, onions, and red Thai chili. The portion size was perfect for a lunch outing. It was just the right amount of food to get me through the day. The meal was a bit sweet, a bit salty, but overall delicious.

Promise Thai Cuisine is one of those restaurants that has never let me down. Hopefully, you have the same experience if you go.

Happy Dining,
