In one of the coolest little stories of the year, goats (not Michael Jordan) have been at Sim Park putting in some work.
The City of Wichita had Restoration Grazing LLC goats at Sim Park to remove brush and poison ivy. The goats are said to be more eco-friendly (and cuter) than having the work done by machinery.
It was a literal all-you-can-eat buffet for the goats, who ate 5 acres worth of brush.
Here are before and after pictures courtesy of the City of Wichita’s Facebook.
The job was expected to be finished in 2–3 weeks, but the brush tasted so delicious, the goats had it finished in half the time. It makes me want to consider eating brush and poison ivy.
Shout out to Restoration Grazing, LLC, Wichita Parks and Rec and the City of Wichita. That was one of the cooler stories to follow.
