First Look at the delicious Pink Elephant Games & Cafe

Pink Elephant Games & Cafe

I love board games and I love food. So, when places combine my two loves and do it well, then they have my support. That’s exactly what Pink Elephant Games and Cafe has done with their new location at 2431 W. Pawnee.

Most people may think this is just a board game and card store, but it’s more than that.

The menu at Pink Elephant features snacks, milk teas, shakes, ice cream on one side and then sandwiches and pizza on the other. The latter sounded good so I asked for a sandwich and pizza recommendation. The suggestions given were Hog Heaven (smoked provolone and Gouda, ham and bacon) and Supreme Chancellor (pepperoni, ham, beef, onions, black olives and green peppers).

I ordered the small version of both.

Let me start off by saying the Hog Heaven was one of the best sandwiches I’ve had in town. It was perfectly toasted and stuffed with the right balance of meats so you got a taste of everything in each bite. It was simple but well executed, which is all you can ask for.

Next up was the pizza, which was good, but I’d still take the sandwich over it. There wasn’t as much of a balance of flavors in this one, though. The cheese, seasoning and black olives stuck out the most. For personal preference, I would have liked to see a little more use of the pizza sauce and better distribution of ham and beef. But, like I said, that’s all preference. Flavor wise, it was good, but maybe the sandwich was so much better that it took some of the excitement away.

Still, I could have had either dish and been happy. Who would have thought a small little gaming cafe could knock out some delicious dishes. I was impressed.

As for the seating at Pink Elephant, there was plenty to go around. Some tables were occupied by gamers and there were many empty seats for those just wanting to hang out or eat.

And I’d be remiss not to mention the gaming part of the cafe. Pink Elephant carries many card games like Magic, figurines, collectibles, and board games to satisfy all the hobbyists and gamers out there. I snapped some pictures to give you an idea of what they had on hand.

Here’s their menu:

Happy Dining,
