The first two Wichita By E.B. Dinner Series sold out and proved to be a fun time, so let’s continue on with part three, which will take place at Local Flavor Restaurant.
This dinner series is something I’ve long wanted to do and finally had it become a reality this past spring. It’s where we enjoy a meal prepared by the owners and chefs and don’t get a say in anything. We come in and enjoy a blind course. Having an open mind and appetite always helps. During the first two dinner series, I was able to share a meal with 20–30 readers. It was a cool, personal, intimate time when we connected on food. The latter is always the best part, but the food could be debated as the better time.
So without further ado, I’d like to share details about part three of the Wichita By E.B. Dinner Series. If you can get tickets, mark your calendar down for July 24 at 6:30 p.m. when we pick it back up at Local Flavor Restaurant (Facebook). The locally owned restaurant at 5400 E. Central has agreed to work up some magic for readers and offer some dishes never seen before on the menu. I recently met with the owner, Jeremy Snyder, and heard just a snippet of what he has in store and think anyone who attends will be in for a treat.
What are the deets?
It’s going to take place on a Monday evening, July 24 at 6:30 p.m. Roughly 30 tickets will be made available.
How can someone purchase tickets?
I was trying to think of the fairest way to do tickets and first come, first served was the only thing that came to mind that gave everyone an equal chance. A link to purchase tickets will be released in our newsletter to our email subscribers on Friday, July 14 at 7 a.m. Once the tickets sell out, they’re gone. If they don’t sell out in the first hour, a link will be shared on our social pages.
If the form isn’t working, head here.
Also check your spam folder when the email comes out. I love to eat spam so it only makes sense my emails go there sometimes.
The cost of the dinner series
Truth be told, this won’t be a cheap night. On top of that, Local Flavor Restaurant is typically closed on Monday and they’ve agreed to open on their day off so I want to make sure the staff is compensated appropriately. Just like previous dinner series, I’ll be on hand serving, hanging out, but all tips will go back to the staff. I just want to make sure everyone has a good time and the staff feels like it was worth their time.
I feel it’s important to be transparent, and I’m sure people are wondering if I profit off these dinners. The answer is no. These dinners are 100% done to support the restaurant, show what they can do, and get them new diners. I accept zero money, zero tips, and every dollar goes back to the restaurant minus those stupid ticket fees.
With that said, the cost of the dinner is $50 + taxes. But with the entry comes two drink tickets!
What else to expect
This is more than just a dinner. Hopefully, it will be an experience. You will come, make new friends, have a little Q&A with myself and the owner, enjoy some delicious food, be around other foodies and have a cool night to talk about.
We are working on a surprise appearance for the evening, so stay tuned….. #tuned is the keyword.
My end goal is to grub with people who love food as much as I do. So, let’s have fun conversations over some drinks. The first two dinners were a blast hanging out with readers and I’m betting this second one will be just as fun.
One of my life mottos is to live for the moments and have fun. That’s what the purpose of this night will be. And if you can’t make this one, I’m sorry. But there will be a fourth installment
Make sure to get signed up for the newsletter. Stay tuned for more!
