Wichita’s first joint Jamba Juice/Auntie Anne’s location could be on the way

In recent years, Jamba Juice and Auntie Anne’s combined forced to build joint locations throughout the U.S. and now one is tentatively scheduled to open in Wichita.

Construction is taking place at the southeast corner of 29th and Maize, where a new build is going up immediately east of the QuikTrip. Some sources have told me that’s where the planned Jamba Juice and Auntie Anne’s will go. A permit was also filed for 10209 W. 29th St N for Jamba/Auntie Anne’s, so all signs point to this being true.

Auntie Anne’s, known for their hand-baked pretzels, and Jamba Juice for their smoothies, plan to bring this new tag team to the Wichita market. For Jamba Juice, it’ll be their first location in the state of Kansas. Meanwhile, Auntie Anne’s has had a footprint in Wichita but primarily in the malls.

It’s interesting to note that the Auntie Anne’s in Towne West Square has temporarily closed, but I haven’t been able to confirm if that will be permanent. If so, that’s another sign that Auntie Anne’s has bigger plans for west Wichita.

No word if this joint venture will be one of their kiosk type locations that use a walk-up window or drive thru which has increasingly become popular for their expansion or if they will offer a small sit down area inside.

Atlanta-based Focus Brands is the parent company behind Auntie Anne’s and Jamba Juice, so it’s a partnership that makes sense. Focus Brands also owns Cinnabon, so it may be a shocker to see their cinnamon rolls offered at this new location as well.

We will have more on this as the story develops.

  1. Good luck to anyone patronizing Jamba. The people in the stores are nice enough, but if you ever have a problem and need to contact customer service, forget about it! Impossible to find a working phone number, and if you do ever manage to get through, the reps are rude and unhelpful. Escalating doesn’t help — it’s rude and unhelpful all the way up through the ranks. Honestly, I will never buy from them again, and I you should think twice before patronizing them.
