Water park fun in Derby, KS at Rock River Rapids

Rock River Rapids

Our daughter loves being in the water. Whether it’s swimming, splash pads, or anything that involves water (minus taking a bath), she’s all for it. When we decided to swing by Rock River Rapids, she was beyond excited.

Rock River Rapids is an outdoor water park located in Derby, KS at 1900 E. James St. They have slides, pools, a lazy river and is a very affordable option for families.

Kids 0-2 are free, 3-7 are $9, 18 years and up are $10 and 60+ is $9. The admission is an all day pass that runs from 12:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. every day of the week.

If you want to save a little money, park admission is $5 after 5 p.m. every day.

The park has a bit of everything for people of all ages.

There’s a wading area for younger children with slides, water hoses, and other little attractions that children can interact with.

Thrill seekers can visit one of the multiple slides available at Rock River Rapids.

Non-thrill seekers or those looking to relax can float along the lazy river.

There’s also a big pool with two diving boards, a couple of slides, and a rock climbing wall.

If you get hungry, there’s Ollie’s Snack Shack which provides snacks, treats, and drinks.

The hot dog left much to be desired, but the Lemon Chiller and pretzel were solid treats. Our kids couldn’t decide which they enjoyed more between the two.

All the kids who went enjoyed it so much. It’s one of those places where, as a parent, you’re worried your child may have a mental breakdown when it’s time to go because they are having so much fun.

On another note, I can’t believe this was my first time at Rock River Rapids. Any place that puts a big smile on my daughter’s face will always get two thumbs up from me.

Rock River Rapids is located at 1900 E. James St. in Derby, KS. For more information, you can visit their webpage.
