Three restaurants celebrated anniversaries over the weekend

According to the National Restaurant Association, it’s estimated that 30% of restaurants won’t make it past the first year. That means nearly 1 in every 3 restaurants you see open in town won’t make it to the 365 day mark.

It takes a lot of work to keep those doors open and the challenges have been continued to pile on ever since the pandemic. So to make it past one year and perhaps to 3, 5, 10 means a lot.

Over the weekend, three restaurants in town celebrated some anniversaries worth noting:

  • Crafted, at 9730 E. 21st St., hit year four on Sunday. The Asian fusion cafe serving coffee, tea, and poke opened seven months before the world went crazy and continues is the city’s oldest running spot for poke.
  • A & J’s Music Room, at 1602 S. Meridian, had a big party to commemorate 7 years in business. The bar and grill just south of Kellogg on Meridian is well known for karaoke and their Taco Tuesday specials.
  • Smallcakes, at 8338 E. 21st St. celebrated ten years on Saturday. If you’ve never been, they are a little cupcake shop at 21st and Rock Road.

Best wishes for continued success to the restaurants in town.
