Fall is one of the most magical times of the year! One of the fabulous things about autumn? There’s no shortage of things to do in any town around Wichita. Fall Festivals are here and we’ve put together a list of places within driving distance of Wichita to celebrate all things fall…. y’all.

Whether you typically frequent these September and October fall festivals close to home or want to branch out to something a little out of the ordinary, we’ve rounded up the best fall festivals happening across nearby cities in Kansas and perhaps beyond.

September 16 – 23
City of Gold Festival 
Where:
 El Dorado, KS
El Dorado’s biggest party is returning for its second year as the City of Gold Fest returns Sept. 16 through 23*, with the big Block Party Sept. 23 in Downtown El Dorado. Events include arts and crafts, food vendors, kids activities, music and more! Get your buttons and join in the fun! *Rain or shine!

The Drone Light Festival

Where: Exploration Place
The festival will provide breathtaking views of 300 synchronized drones (100 more than last year!), fully choreographed with music. We are planning some exciting enhancements to the experience, including new custom drone formations, floating Chinese water lanterns, projections on the Exploration Place buildings and a concert lit by more than 2,000 candles.

Valley Center Fall Festival 
Where:
 Valley Center, KS
WEEE Entertainment Ride-A-Rama, Craft Vendors on Main Street, Food Court, Beer Garden, Pickleball and Washers Tournament, Saturday Morning Parade, Live Bands & Much More!

Peace Treaty Festival 
Where:
 Medicine Lodge, KS
Experience Peace Treaty’s signature events including the Intertribal Powwow, Kansas Championship Ranch Rodeo, and historical night show! Don’t miss the live music, parade and shopping opportunities.

Kingman Fall Festival

Where: Kingman, KS
The City of Kingman Park Board will be hosting their 9th Annual Kingman Fall Festival in downtown Kingman, KS on Saturday, September 23rd. There will be food trucks, an arts and craft fair, historical society car show, color run/walk, fall fest street dance and more.

Conway Springs Fall Festival

Where: Conway Springs, KS
Attendees can expect a business decorating contest, a fall fest run run, all wheels car show, biscuits & gravey breakfast and more.

Concordia Fall Fest

Where: Concordia, KS
This annual celebration is filled with a fun-packed weekend of events, booths, entertainment, and delicious food along the downtown area of Concordia.

Oktoberfest

Where: Hays, KS
Oktoberfest in Hays boasts a wide range of traditional food, music, and drink. As always the festival coincides with homecoming weekend at Fort Hays State University.

Prairieland Beer and Music Festival
Where:
 Hyde Park
Come enjoy unlimited samples of 100+ beers with 40+ breweries from Kansas and beyond, featuring LIVE music throughout the festival. This year the festival will be held under the shade of old growth trees in Hyde Park across from Central Standard Brewing.

Oktoberfest

Where: Blessed Sacrament
The annual Oktoberfest at Church of the Blessed Sacrament includes a Run for the Poor, All day kids’ inflatable park, live music, beers on tap, Sauerkraut balls, brats & more!

Whimmydiddle

Where: Scott City, KS
Whimmydiddle Arts and Crafts Fair comes to Scott City Park on the last Saturday of every September. One of the largest craft shows in Western Kansas, this event features over 200 exhibitors from across the United States who arrive with original art, metal working, pottery and crafts in wood, fabric, jewelry, silk & dried flowers.

September 28 – October 1
Greater Andover Days

Where: Andover, KS
Greater Andover Days (GAD) is a festival that occurs the 4th weekend after Labor Day weekend. The event offers handfuls of fun, food, and entertainment for the entire family! Over 5,000 people attend GAD annually. The festival includes a food court, KidFest, parade, fishing clinic, car show, business expo/craft fair, carnival, live entertainment and a fireworks show in Central Park.

Wellington Fall Festival

Where: Wellington, KS
Come to Wellington on Saturday, September 30th for Wellington’s Annual Fall Festival ~ Flannel & Fall! There will be an Art & Craft Show with over 50 vendors, the annual Chili Cookoff Competition, Cinnamon Roll Contest, Apple Pie Contest, Mummy Races, Kid’s Activities, and more!

23rd Annual Fall Great Plains Renaissance and Scottish Festival 2023
Where:
 Sedgwick County Park
Come one, come all to the 23rd Annual Fall Great Plains Renaissance and Scottish Festival! Wichita’s long standing fall tradition returns September 30th and October 1st, 2023 in Sedgwick County Park. Aye, there’ll be jests and jousts, falconry and fire breathing, damsels and daredevils, bagpipes and belly dancers, singing pirates, The Wichita Highland Games, Celtic music, kings and queens, Vikings and vagabonds, Kansas Authors Pavilion/renaissance in reading, fairies and fairy tales, fantastic artists, the siege engine competition marvelous merchants and much, much more!

Hutch Fest

Where: Hutchinson, KS
Celebrate the return of Hutch Fest with some of our community’s favorite events, live music, and food – all wrapped into one weekend. Featured events include: the Hutch Rod Run, LIVE music, the Salt City 5K/10K Race, the Hutch Fest Kids Zone, and Hutch Brewfest — a craft beer festival.

Clearwater Fall Festival

Where: Clearwater, KS
The Clearwater Fall Festival began as a centennial celebration. It has been going on since 1985! They have held a celebration every year except the 2021 covid year. They have since renamed the festival Clearwater Fall Festival. It is a hometown celebration that they are proud to hold every year!

October 6 – 7
Goddard Fall Festival

Where: Goddard, KS
The Goddard Fall Festival is an annual event held in October each year and includes games, vendors, great food and entertainment for all ages. The main events kick off with a parade Saturday morning along Main Street where most activities take place. The festival has been a long standing tradition of “festive fun” for the community. We hope you will join us for this year’s festival “Back to the Future”.

Stafford Oktoberfest

Where: Stafford, KS
Stafford Oktoberfest started in 1990. The festival is always the first Saturday in October. Oktoberfest as been the long standing tradition for the community to use as more than celebration of homecoming.

Annual Town Festival, celebrating 154 years of Douglass and going back to our roots! Come one, Come all let’s show the kids what Frontier Day’s was like when we were kids! The town coming together and celebrating as one!

Where: Wamego, KS
Mark your calendars for October 7 for a fun, fall, family celebration known as OZtoberFEST! Join us in downtown Wamego for a variety of activities including our OZ Costume Contest, Toto look-a-like contest, an Outdoor OZ Market, Classic Car Show, Wizard’s Beer & Wine Garden, Munchkinland, Munchkin Junction and many more OZsome activities.

Where: Peabody, KS
Peabody Fall Festival is a community event that takes place in Peabody, KS on the 1st Saturday in October each year. The event includes a horseshoe tournament, dog show, disc golf, wiffle ball, washers tournament and more.

Udall Fall Festival

Where: Udall, KS
The Udall Fall Festival has been an annual tradition on the 1st weekend in October. It is put on by a dedicated group of volunteers. Such events include a pie eating contest, car show, cornhole tournament, washers tournament, 6×6 volleyball tournament, horseshoe tournaent, 3×3 basketball tournament, and more.

Frederick Remington Festival

Where: Whitewater, KS
Whether you are looking for some friendly competition, yummy treats, unique crafts, or just some good ol’ fun and memory-making; Whitewater, Kansas is the place to be the first weekend in October.

ICT Bloktoberfest

Where: Naftzger Park
Celebrate German heritage with local craft beer and brats at ICT Bloktoberfest. Naftzger Park in Wichita is transformed into a Biergarten as this giant block party brings together your favorite flavors with Wichita food trucks and breweries.

Haven Fall Festival

Where: Haven, KS
Fun for the whole family! 5K fun run, bicycle ride, kids’ pedal pull, micro stock car races, alpaca/llama races and BBQ contest. Many, many free events! The Fall Festival is held on the second Saturday in October in downtown Haven.

Bethel College Fall Festival

Where: Newton, KS
The four-day event includes the Taste of Newton, Thresher Classic Golf Tournament and Fall Fest Fair on the Bethel campus.

Maize Fall Festival

Where: Maize, KS
Presenting “Maize Super Days – A City of Character”. There you’ll find the 9th Annual Pride Ag Ace Hardware Chidlren’s Miracle Network Car Show, the fall festival parade, a talent show and more.

Geuda Fest

Where: Geuda Springs, KS

Svensk Hyllningsfest

Where: Lindsborg, KS
Svensk Hyllningsfest is the biennial celebration of honoring the Swedish immigrants who settled in the Smoky Valley in 1869. Started in 1941, the festival features art, crafts, special foods, ethnic music, folk dancing, parade, smörgåsbord and special entertainment. Smörgåsbord tickets are popular and sell quickly., The festival coincides with the Bethany College Football Homecoming.

Rose Hill Fall Festival

Where: Rose Hill, KS
Rose Hill’s annual celebration includes a carnival, car show, parade, craft show, fishing derby and more!

Floyd’s Fall Fest

Where: Cheney, KS

Ellsworth Fall Festival

Neewollah

Where: Independence, KS
The Neewollah festival (Halloween spelled backwards) began in 1919 in an effort to provide positive activities for kids of all ages in place of typical Halloween pranks. Initially, the event centered on parades held morning, afternoon, and night on October. Events include a fun run/walk, BBQ & dessert cook-off, medallion hunt, musical and more.

Haysville Fall Festival

Where: Haysville, KS
The 3 day festival features a car show, food court, parade, beer garden, pumpkin decorating, arts and crafts booths, drawings and more.

October 21
Gypsum Fall Festival

Where: Gypsum, KS
Come out on October 21 from 9 a.m. to midnight for a fun filled day for the whole family! Some of the fun includes: Bounce houses, Corn hole, Food, Parade, Vendor fair, Costume contest, Live music, and more!

Arkalalah

Where: Arkansas City, KS
Arkalalah Festival is a non-profit organization committed to organizing an event that promotes pride and a positive image of Arkansas City, while boosting attendance and the local economy. They strive to create a welcoming atmosphere that reunites friends and family and celebrates the unique cultural and artistic aspects of our community. Through the festival, the city aims to showcase the best of Ark City and foster a sense of belonging for all who attend.

Park City Fall Festival

Where: Park City, KS
Head to Hap McLean Park on October 28 from 4-6 p.m. for a costume contest, pony rides, bonfire, s’mores, pumpkin decorating, money dive, and kids games! The costume contest begins at 5:00 p.m. Stay afterwards for an outdoor showing of Hocus Pocus!
