A visit to The Hub Brick Oven & Brewery in Moundridge, KS

The Hub Brick Oven & Brewery in Moundridge, KS

On a visit to Moundridge, KS, I was finally able to make it to a restaurant that’s long been on my list, The Hub Brick Oven & Brewery. My daughter and I made the 45- minute drive to Moundridge where we had no idea what to expect. I’ve never seen pictures of the restaurant, just people recommending that I stop by.

Inside the restaurant, I loved everything I was seeing as we walked in. It had such a cool vibe inside with a modernized look.

The Hub had it all for Moundridge. There was a brick oven pizzeria, a brewery, and a bakery all under the same roof.

For our visit, we stuck to the brick oven pizzas.

They had preset selections of 12” pizzas on the menu or you could build your own. I asked for recommendations on what were the most popular options. The Beez Kneez was the first pizza the lady at the counter said. It was a traditional pizza topped with mozzarella, sliced pepperoni, cream cheese and jalapeños then drizzled with hot honey. Then the Apple Pie caught our eye which was warm apple pie filling, topped with cinnamon and sugar Streusel and a generous drizzle of cream cheese icing.

Like most brick oven pizzerias, it didn’t take long for our pizzas to arrive.

What can I say? The pizzas were excellent! We loved every part of it. Well, when I say we, I mean I was devouring the Beez Kneez while my daughter sugar loaded herself with the Apple Pie.

The crust had a slight crisp to it, but still very soft. More importantly, on the Beez Kneez, everything meshed well together. I thoroughly enjoyed the blast of sweet and spicy flavor in each bite. Plus I can’t stand pizzas that have minimal pieces of pepperoni on it, The Hub placed generously placed them all over the pizza.

As for the Apple Pie, you can’t go wrong with anything that has sugar and cinnamon on it. This was literally like eating a slice of apple pie; this was also so much better fresh out of the oven.

For the cherry on top, the service was top notch all around.

Just a fantastic, fantastic, fantastic visit to The Hub in Moundridge. The city is certainly lucky to have them around.
