It’s been almost five years since Wichita last saw The Kamayan Truck. They were one of the original Filipino food trucks that hit the scene during an era that saw the boom of the food truck scene we now know.
The truck was auctioned off and the business closed in late 2018. Since then, there have been teases on The Kamayan Truck’s Facebook page of a potential return.
But now, it looks like fans can get a taste of The Kamayan Truck this weekend.
On Saturday, Sept. 30 from noon to 5 p.m., there’s an event celebrating Filipino culture called Barrio Fiesta at Sedgwick County Park.
Among the many vendors on hand, The Kamayan Truck will be there slinging Asian tacos. Since the truck has been sold, it’s likely they’ll be in a regular booth. They’ve been pretty hush hush on future plans as well as what they’ll have for sale at the fiesta besides the tacos.
But if you’ve been missing one of the best Filipino options that Wichita has seen, then make your way over to Sedgwick County Park this Saturday.
Be sure to follow The Kamayan Truck on Facebook for more updates.
Happy Dining,
Eddy
