Two local restaurants giving back during the Thanksgiving holiday with free turkeys and meals

Two local restaurants are giving back to those in need.

The first is Kelly’s Family Diner at 2131 S. Broadway. This has been a tradition of sorts for the restaurant, who has done plenty for the less fortunate in our community.

Kelly’s Family Diner will once again be giving turkeys to those who can’t afford one, no questions asked. As she does every year, owner Kelly Wilson, starts with purchasing ten full turkeys and giving them out. She also does a turkey drive where people can donate turkeys and she will make sure they are placed in the hands of those who could use them.

Those interested in helping out can call Kelly’s Family Diner at 316-978-9255 or reach out to them on Facebook.

Another local restaurant giving back is The Appetite 316 who recently moved to a new location at 2516 E. Central. Owner Marcus Wooley will have people delivering food around town. He will also add big long tables to his dining room area so those who are less fortunate, with no family, or people who want to drop by can eat with others and celebrate Thanksgiving properly.

In the meantime, Wooley is searching for help and donations to make this possible. He is also accepting donations through CashApp ($Theappetite316).
