An Orchestral rendition of Dr. Dre 2001 has been announced for July 5 by The Alternative Symphony.
The modern orchestra group is brining its orchestral rendition show of Dre’s all-time hits for one night. The crowd will hear tunes from Dre’s second solo album, 2001, which was considered an “ostentatious return to his rap roots.” The album, which was released in November 1999, was a followup to Dre’s 1992 debut album “The Chronic” which I may still own on cassette tape at my parents’ house.
According to videos I’ve seen, the orchestra has got it all — trumpets, horns, strings, DJ’s, drums, live vocalists, MC’s and much, much more.
The event on Facebook originally listed as taking place at 525 N. Broadway. That address is First Presbyterian Church which I’m told is NOT hosting the concert. Since then, the address has changed, but no venue has confirmed this concert as taking place.
