Kick off the new year with a hilarious comedy by Tony Award winning playwright Matthew Lopez at Roxy’s Downtown! The Legend of Georgia McBride follows Casey, a young Elvis Presley impersonator barely making a living. He’s young, he’s broke, his landlord’s knocking at the door, and he’s just found out his wife is going to have a baby. To make matters worse, Casey is fired from his gig as an Elvis impersonator in a run-down, small-town Florida bar. When the bar owner brings in a B-level drag show to replace his act, “The King” transforms into an all-out queen.

Spektrum Muzik Presents: Stop Making Sense | Jan. 13
Where: Tallgrass Film Association
A concert film documenting Talking Heads at the height of their popularity, on tour for their 1983 album “Speaking in Tongues.” The band takes the stage one by one and is joined by a cadre of guest musicians for a career-spanning and cinematic performance that features creative choreography and visuals. Pre-Roll by Local filmmaker Chris Maslen opens at 6:30 pm and film at 7 pm
