Wichita Library Presents Black History Month Programming Series

The Wichita Public Library presents “Celebrating Wichita’s Black History,” a series of programs in February that highlight the achievements of people and events that have shaped Wichita’s history.

The five-program series is offered  from 12:30 – 1:30 p.m., Thursdays, February 1-29, at the Advanced Learning Library, 711 W. 2nd St.

·                     February 1: Black Educators

·                     February 8: The Wichita African American Business History Project

·                     February 15: African American Journalism

·                     February 22: Black Aviators

·                     February 29: Kansas African American Trailblazers Who Shaped Our History

In addition to this series, Wichita Public Library’s subscription to Kanopy, a movie streaming service, gives cardholders access to movies and documentaries that honor the remarkable achievements of heroes who have paved the way for change.
