I have to pass on something that people may or may not know about. Did you know that GROW Giesen Plant Shop at 320 S. Market also has a coffee shop inside?
The downtown plant shop, located in the Fidelity Rise building, has more than just plants. We’ve covered the cocktails at Botanic at GROW which is their little lounge located inside the plant shop. But I arrived one morning and decided to check out their coffee.

Per usual, the disclaimer should be noted. I do not really drink coffee. 99% of the time a coffee is ordered at a place, it’s because I’m doing it to support a coffee shop and spread the word around. I know more about coffee than I do being a parent or blogging, and all that’s VERY little. So take everything I say with a grain of salt, or just do what everybody else does and roll your eyes as you read this.
So, I arrived at Botanic at Grow one morning and said, “Are you all serving coffee now?”
They said “Yes”.
Next thing I know, there’s a coffee in front of me or something like it. I honestly don’t even know what I ordered. To me, it tasted like coffee, but my taste buds really aren’t trained to do much else than to drink it.
Then someone asked me, “You should try a mushroom coffee. If you don’t drink coffee, you may like this.”
I love trying new things and nodded my head. Next thing I know, this was in front of me.
I originally thought it was Mud Wtr but come to find out it was called the Joey. First sip in, and I was really shocked. It tasted nothing like coffee, nothing like mushrooms and nothing like mud. I’m not sure how to really describe it, but it was smooth going down and quite refreshing. Next thing I know, I was halfway through my cup. I’d say I was a fan, and it’s something I would try again in the future.
So now you’ve gotten this far and asking yourself, “Why the hell am I reading this?”
Well, sometimes I step out of my lane and discuss things I have no knowledge of. But it’s fun to branch out and learn about new things, new places, new whatever. If Botanic at Grow serving coffee is something you didn’t know about or piques your interest, then my job here is done.
Here’s the menu.
