First Look at Paranormal Cafe

Paranormal Cafe

They have a food truck called Paranormal Eggsperience and as of last year, they took over the former Sunflower Espresso Cafe space in the FireWorx co-working space and opened Paranormal Cafe.

If you’ve ever checked out their food truck/trailer, you’ll know the owners have a fascination with all things sci-fi like monsters, ghosts, and aliens. In fact, many of the trucks dishes are named after creatures like Bigfoot.

The same fascination can be found inside Paranormal Cafe which is an extension of the truck and specializes in drinks and the occasional treats like scones. The drinks have similar names, like the Yeti Chai and the Mothman Mocha.

While I’m not a coffee type of guy, I still wanted to pop-in, show some love and just pass the word on of another cafe option.

I dropped by during Valentine’s Day, so the place was decorated with that theme. They even had a Scrabble board out, so I made sure to see if I could spell my blog’s name.

When I walk into cafes, I usually just have them suggest me a drink. Paranormal Cafe suggested the Mothman Mocha. I also noticed they had some scones in the back. One of the flavor options was a strawberry crunch; I live for all things strawberry crunch.

I was hoping their food trailer would be there that day, but alas it was not. So I settled for a drink and a scone.

I’m not really in the business of reviewing cafes, but did enjoy what I received. The scone though was fabulous. Oddly enough, scones aren’t something I typically order or crave. But the one at Paranormal Cafe may make me rethink that decision as I really enjoyed theirs. I loved the crispy exterior, but each bite was fluffy, buttery, and light. Next time I stop by, I’m getting two of them.

Here’s the menu at Paranormal Cafe.
