Japan Express: A visual guide to every entree on the menu

Something I’ve never shied away from is the fact that Japan Express is probably one of my top 3 favorite restaurants in Wichita. Its simplicity, convenience, pricing, service and food makes it such a great place to swing by for a meal.

There’s a lot to choose from at Japan Express and sometimes looking at the menu can be overwhelming or even hard to read. It’s definitely harder if you’re just looking at pictures online like the one below.

So I had this idea to stop by Japan Express and order EVERY entree on the menu. And just make an easier to read guide of the dishes at the restaurant with clearer pictures to help you decide.

But before I begin, I want to thank Graybill & Hazlewood Law Firm who helped sponsor this endeavor. Graybill & Hazlewood, based in Wichita, has a diverse practice, including disputes over unpaid insurance, long term disability insurance, unpaid overtime and other employment matters.

One of the attorneys with Graybill & Hazlewood even joined myself and a handful of other bloggers to make sure the food did not go to waste.

I did give Japan Express a heads up the week before because I didn’t want to completely throw them off that I was going to come in and place a $300 order. They loved it and said it was the first time ever someone has come in and ordered this type of spread.

Without further ado, here’s every dish at Japan Express on a handful of tables. It was a full spread of food that looked like a buffet line. The looks of customers walking in and seeing the side show made for some good laughs.

So what all did we get? Here’s your guide to the menu with the corresponding item on the menu. Please note, item numbers are always subject to change with menu revisions.

It should be noted, many of the dishes at Japan Express can be mixed and matched. You can switch out rice with noodles, substitute chicken with pork which adds many combinations for entrees.

There was about 8-10 of us chowing down on all the deliciousness at Japan Express. Going into the day, I’ve already had every dish on the menu so I knew what to expect.

If you were to ask me what my favorite dishes are. Here’s a handful that I love:

  • Momoyaki with noodle
  • Teriyaki chicken
  • Tonkatsu pork
  • Obento
  • Hot & Sour soup

Either way, you can’t go wrong with Japan Express. I loved this visit, it was fun having many friends out, some who were experiencing this place for the first time.

Lastly, thanks again to Graybill & Hazlewood. They offered to sponsor something for my blog and instead of using that for any site maintenance, I figured why not spread the love and give it all to a restaurant and invite others in the blogging space to join me at one of my top three favorite places in Wichita.

Happy Dining,
Eddy

  1. This is amazing, love it so much! I’ve honestly never even heard of the place and it’s probably because I rarely venture to the east side but next time I do I’m going to try the teriyaki chicken and hot & sour soup.
