Let’s Review The Cheesecake Factory!

The Cheesecake Factory

Let’s revisit The Cheesecake Factory!

The Cheesecake Factory is an American restaurant company and distributor of cheesecakes that was founded in 1972 in Los Angeles, California. It operates over 200 locations with the closest stores in Oklahoma City and Kansas City.

If you were to poll the Wichita audience, The Cheesecake Factory may be in the running for the most requested establishment to open.

For the purpose of this review, we visited the location in Oklahoma City at 5600 N Pennsylvania Ave.

We arrived during lunchtime and as expected, the restaurant was packed. The service was still moving along at a good pace. Once we were given the menu, admittedly, it did take some time to look over it. There were over 20 pages on The Cheesecake Factory menu to look over.

Once I finished reading through it, I was wondering if my third grade teacher would count that as a book read for Book It to get a free Pizza Hut pizza.

After spending what felt like an hour reading and deciding on a lunch, we went with the spicy chicken chipotle pasta and SkinnyLicious soft tacos with shrimp. My daughter had the grilled cheese and fruit.

Oh man… where do I begin? We agreed the pasta and tacos were extremely bland. They tasted like something store bought and quickly prepared. It was pretty reminiscent of Applebee’s in quality but with higher name brand prices.  The sauce in my spicy chicken chipotle pasta was just a light sweet sauce. And the tacos were probably the least inspiring tacos on this side of the Mississippi.

For what it’s worth, my daughter didn’t mind her grilled cheese or fruit, To be honest though, we bribed her with dessert to eat her lunch.

We couldn’t leave the Cheesecake Factory without getting cheesecake. After looking through the multiple options, we settled on tiramisu.

OK… now this was the real deal. It was possibly the best tiramisu cheesecake we’ve ever had and up there with some of the best tiramisu type desserts.

But was the dessert worth the trip to Applebee’s… sorry I mean, The Cheesecake Factory? Not for me.

It’s an uber popular place that serves probably every dish known to man. The service is really good, the place looked to run like a well-oiled machine. We enjoyed the cheesecake. But when we are talking about the main entrées, it didn’t vibe with our taste buds. It’s worth noting though, we only had two dishes out of the one million they offered (slight exaggeration).

Forewarning, you may want to block off an hour of your schedule to read the rest of this blog because here’s the menu.

Happy Dining,

  1. I’ve only been to one cheesecake factory in Kansas City. This review pretty well sums up what I thought about the food. Yes, the cheesecake was very good–but not worth the price for the other food.
